Trivia[]

AS val

The real life AT WAD/AS val.

  • The AT-WAD is based on the AS-Val. The barrel of the AS-Val features an integrated suppressor, making the gun permanently suppressed.
    • The wire stock of the AS Val lacks a small, long metal bar that support the wires in the middle of the stock.
  • A common misconception, which seems to have been made by the developers when they changed the name, is that "Val" is also an acronym, and should be capitalized as such. However, the word "Val" is Russian for "Shaft", because of the AS-Val's pipe-like appearance. It is not an acronym, and the correct stylization of the weapon's name is "AS-Val", not "AS-VAL", so it should have been changed to "AT-Wad", not "AT-WAD".
  • The AS-Val was developed alongside the VSS Vintorez to replace modified general-purpose firearms, such as the AKS-74UB, BS-1_Tishina, APB, and PB pistol, for clandestine operations.
  • Many of its components are shared with the Vintorez with the main discrepancy being the tubular metal buttstock which folds to the left.
  • The charging handle on the AT-WAD doesn’t move when firing, unlike the AI-76. This error is seen when you are aiming down the sights and firing.
  • Like the AI-76, and N16. The AT-WAD incorrectly features a 3 round burst fire mode, while the real-lifr AS Val comes with semi-automatic and fully automatic capabilities as it wasn’t designed for 3 round burst.
  • The AT-WAD supports attachments without any picatinny rails.
    • However, an existing optional side mounting scope dose exists in generation zero and real life that was made for side mounting attachment that being the PSO-1 scope was made pacifically for side mounting attachments. However the PS0-1 didn't come with red dot sights, like the 2x red dot sight seen in-game.
